Stories & Voices

Anonymous reflections from our "I Believe You (IBY)" box and healing journeys from our community.

"I came across Bachpan when I was in a very difficult phase of my life. I can't explain in words how much it helped me. Even though I have been with Bachpan for just a few months now, I can proudly say that I'm a better version of myself now compared to a few months back, and it's all because of the people and the incredible support they have given me. With immense happiness I can say that bachpan is my virtual family and home. Really proud to be a part of this amazing team and help for the cause"

"I absolutely love the fact that we are always there for each other even at 2 in midnight! Moreover it has become an extended family where we laugh, pull each other's legs , bond over same interests, vent out and give to each other strength when we have lost hope.I feel very safe to express my feelings in the group. Also the feeling of solidarity towards each other is what I like the most about the group."

"I crossed paths with Bachpan 1 year ago and I was invited to share my story live with them. It was very scary as I had just started to share my story. However I was lucky to deal with Rahul who was so supportive and comforting. It ended up being such a great experience as it felt empowering to share my story and it has really given me the courage to keep going and with my page and helping others."

""My experience with bachpan has been really unique for me...czz of the way people have been understanding and supportive over here, hasn’t happened anywhere else.My opinions, ideas and my overall condition or story was valued. I never thought anyone would ever understand me or help me out in the way everyone here in bachpan has helped. I consider it more like a family or home where I can express myself and my ideas more openly."

"I think it has just been a month since I joined Bachpan. The best thing I found here is the pure intent with which each member is working. Although it’s a volunteer based organisation, people feel accountable and responsible and are so open to learning. I have felt how genuinely inclusive each program is and I am glad to be a part of the team.Paths emerge once you start walking on it, and what’s better than going down this lane with such a compassionate group of individuals. I have found my own niche lane here and it feels beautiful paving this path together."

"I came across Bachpan by chance or maybe fate it was? Bachpan was nothing but a place where I would perhaps volunteer. That was what I thought before getting to know Rahul. Today he and Bachpan are family. It's the first place where I've shared my story, the first place where I fit in and want to stay forever. Rahul is one of humblest people I've come across and honestly I don't know where I'd be without him and his Bachpan. It's given me a direction, a new lease of life. I'm just going to take that forward and give it to the children who need it- just like Rahul would."
