About our Work Culture
At BSTI, we believe in the power of long-term commitment to create meaningful change. Our average volunteer retention period of 12-15 months is a testament to the deep fulfillment and profound impact our volunteers experience. Here’s why our volunteers choose to stay and grow with us:
1. Personal Growth and Development
Our volunteers undergo significant personal growth, gaining confidence, improving public speaking skills, enhancing problem-solving abilities, building effective teams, and developing emotional intelligence. These life-changing experiences transform challenges into exciting opportunities.
2. Value in Kindness and Dedication
Inspired by the boundless value of kindness, our volunteers are driven to make a difference, no matter the scale. They take pride in contributing to sex education and appreciate the inclusive, peaceful, and respectful community we’ve built together.
3. Shared Experiences and Commitment
Remarkably, 90% of our volunteers are survivors of child sexual abuse themselves. Their personal connection to the cause strengthens their unwavering dedication to our mission and our organization.
4. A Supportive Community
Our volunteers are never alone. They find a family within our community, where sharing personal experiences is encouraged and supported, creating a sense of belonging and completeness.
5. Deep Fulfillment and Lasting Bonds
Volunteers find immense peace and satisfaction in working with children and survivors. The bonds they form and the sense of impact they create foster a strong commitment to our organization, making them feel deeply rooted and unlikely to leave.
Why to choose @BachpanIndia
Here are some words of praise from our team members.
The volunteers see boundless value in kindness and are motivated to dedicate their life to making a difference, however big or small. They find fulfilment in contributing to sex education and appreciate the inclusive, peaceful, and respectful community within their organisation.
Being a survivor, the cause feels too personal. Besides, I've felt the need of sex education in my daily life at various phases and those phases have made me realise how important it is to teach the children at the right age about right things so that they don't end up gathering the information from wrong sources. Also, if I'll be able to impact even one life and give the right help to even one child, that would be great for me.
I always had the feeling that if I was in my childhood someone would have been there so things might have been different, so I want to be that someone for children. When we talk about this cause it's known yet a taboo among people that in a way it harms the children. In all this cause is something which I relate to and I am someone who does want to help children, be around them
Kindness has no limits. I always wanted to work for a social cause. Children are not that capable of understanding, accepting and taking actions when something wrong happens to them. Sexual abuse, out of all abuses, leaves them with the darkest void for an entire lifetime. I just wanted to channelise my positivity and empathising nature towards something that really makes a difference, especially for children. Also, I've experienced a mild level of child sexual abuse myself and I can't even imagine how worse it can get. I know how much it affects a child.
Being a survivor of CA I wanted to work for this cause because in the time of need when that trauma hits you, there are only a few people whom you can entrust to and I want to be that person whom you can rely on at any hour of the day
Bachpan is something which I'm gonna cherish for ever for its work culture, resources, approach and more importantly the skill set it provided me. It's something because of which I get a small sense of accomplishment. From the day I joined to today I have seen an immense growth in myself as a person and as a professional.
This organisation has a lot to learn from. Especially, the Founder, who I personally look up to, he has always been an inspiration. The way he always has a different perspective to situations makes me explore more into how vast our thoughts can be. Bachpan fosters a very positive and everygrowing environment where different kinds of traits are built and appreciated like leadership, responsibilities, empathy, team work, inclusivity, appreciation etc.
It's just very peaceful to work with children and Survivors. And now I've grown to love it a lot. Although my responsibilities have evolved a lot in the last 1 year, they have only helped me grow. The bonds I've gotten here and the change I feel I create while working here is the reason I don't think I'll ever think about leaving the organisation, no matter how busy I might get
It's something which has provided me with so much in terms of skills and talented colleagues in the work space.Helping children brings a sense of peace and satisfaction, it's the emotion which is hard to describe, to see them smile and to know that by this I might be able to help some is one of the big reason for long term
