A Note From Our Founder
BSTI was always started as a small project, with a very small vision. But when you have more than 50 percent of volunteers who are child sexual abuse survivors, it was bound to become a movement. BSTI is built on a strong foundation of 3 values: Belongingness, Empowerment and Change.
Our success does not measure on how much money we raise, it's strongly built on the 3 values we wrote together. Every volunteer, stakeholder and supporter should feel at least 1 of the 3 values.
When we were starting BSTI, we realised that TIER 2 and TIER 3 cities, lack even the simple, needed conversation around child sexual abuse. It has been such a taboo, that talking about it has been considered a violation of moral values. Our goal has been very simple, “Everyone should be AWARE and VOCAL about child sexual abuse.” Any initiatives we run are around this one simple line. Rigidly, we are married to our problem, and that has been the only constant since we started.
